Quickstart · 5 minutes

Set up Midas Alpha in 4 steps.

Signal arrives on your phone. You place the trade in your broker. Midas Alpha tracks every position and P&L per strategy. Do these four things and you're running.

Connect Telegram

~1 min

WhySignals fire intraday — minutes matter. Telegram delivers them in under 4 seconds; email won't.

A

Alex: Gets BUY NVDA @ $920 — Strategy B mid-meeting. Glances at his phone, places the order in his broker app 30 seconds later.

Add a trading account

~1 min

WhyOne Midas Alpha account per real broker. Cash and positions must mirror reality — cash in one broker can't buy a stock in another.

A

Alex: Trades in one broker. Creates a single Midas Alpha account, names it after that broker, type Manual.

M

Maya: Trades in two brokers and already holds positions in both. Creates two separate accounts in Midas Alpha — one per broker — so allocations stay honest.

Add trading account
Main Brokerage
Name it after the broker you actually use.
  1. Dashboard → Add Account.
  2. Name it after your broker. Type Manual.
  3. Repeat for each broker you trade through.

Done when: An account card appears on Dashboard with $0 cash and 0 positions.

Multi-broker quirks

Same signal fills in both brokers? Log the fill in each account — they're two real positions.

Moving money between brokers? Use Cash Transaction → Withdrawal in one account and in the other. Not a P&L event.

3

Set your allocations

~1 min

WhyAllocations cap how much of an account each strategy can deploy. Without them, every strategy is at 0% — nothing trades.

A

Alex: Has $10,000. Gives Strategy A 40% ($4k), Strategy C 20% ($2k), and leaves 40% Idle while he's still feeling things out.

Account · Main Brokerage$10,000
Strategy A40%$4,000
Strategy C20%$2,000
Idle40%$4,000
Click any % to edit it inline.
  1. On Dashboard, scroll to your account card → allocation table.
  2. Click a % to edit. Save. Dollar amounts recompute instantly.
  3. Strategies must sum to ≤ 100%. The remainder is Idle.

4

Bring in any existing positions

~2 min · skip if starting from cash

WhyWithout this step, your P&L would start from $0 cost — wildly wrong if you already own things.

M

Maya: Already owns 50 AAPL at $180 avg cost in Broker A. Adds it under Strategy A so P&L tracks from the right baseline.

Use cost basis from your broker statement.
  1. Go to Holdings → Add Holding.
  2. For each position: pick the account, the strategy (or “Idle”), enter ticker / qty / avg cost.
  3. Then in /portfolio → Cash Transaction → Deposit enter your starting cash for each account.

You're set.

Signals will arrive on Telegram. Log each fill in Midas Alpha after you place it. P&L tracks itself.

How P&L is calculated

Avg cost basis after a BUY:

new_avg = (old_qty × old_avg + new_qty × new_price + commission)
          ÷ (old_qty + new_qty)

Unrealized P&L on an open position: (current_price − avg_cost) × qty.

Realized P&L on a SELL: (sell_price − avg_cost) × qty_sold − commission.

A partial SELL reduces quantity at the same avg cost. A full SELL closes the position and locks realized P&L. Cash updates atomically.

The three strategies, at a glance

Strategy A — long-term growth in tech and innovation themes. Multi-week to multi-month holds.

Strategy B — momentum-led growth picks. Days to weeks.

Strategy C — shorter-horizon active trades. Hours to days.

All three are included in the $23/month plan. You choose which to actually trade.

FAQ

Missed a signal? You can still take it at your discretion. Log the actual fill price, not the signal price.

Fill price differs from signal price? Log the real fill. The signal price is informational.

Weekends? Signals fire only during market hours. Prices freeze at the last close.

Cancel mid-month? Access continues to end of period. Your positions and P&L stay intact.

Deposit
Done when: Each strategy row shows a non-zero $ amount instead of $0.
What allocation does (and doesn't do)
  • It sizes the suggested $ amount per trade for that strategy.
  • It caps how much capital each strategy can deploy in this account.
  • It does not auto-rebalance — changing the % only affects future sizing.

Done when: Each existing position appears in /portfolio under the right strategy, with the right avg cost.

I don't know my exact avg cost.

Use the cost basis field from your broker — same number used for taxes. Close enough is fine; you can edit later.
